FAQs

Dermal Fillers are gel-like substances injected under the skin. Dermal Fillers are meant to create a smoother or fuller appearance or both. They are usually made up of hyaluronic acid which is a completely safe and reversible product. All of the Dermal Fillers used at The Best Injector are FDA approved and purchased directly from the manufacturer.

There are many different types of Dermal Fillers. They vary by brand, chemical makeup, longevity, and recommended areas of use. Lianne carries many popular brands including Restylane (Galderma), Versa, and Radiesse (Merz) products. We do not carry Juvederm fillers (Allergan) at The Best Injector.

The results may show the same day of treatment, however, optimal results will not be seen until swelling has decreased and healing has taken place. Fillers will continue to enhance over the following two weeks of treatment. We recommend waiting at least 2 weeks before returning for a follow-up evaluation.

A dental block is Lidocaine injected into the mouth to numb it completely, similar to if you have ever had a dental procedure. You would not feel any of your injections, however, you will be numb for about 2 hours after your procedure.
Swelling and bruising can last anywhere from 1 – 3 weeks. Filler gets hard before it gets soft, if you see lumps and bumps, that can be “normal” for up to 3 – 4 weeks. Swelling can make results look worse before they look better. Trust the process! If there are any undesirable results after this time frame, they can be corrected or smoothed with a dissolver.

The number of syringes required for optimal correction is typically between 1 – 2, depending on how deep the hollows are. With filler alone, we typically aim for a 70%-80% correction. Unfortunately, we are not able to inject filler close to the surface of the skin, or the filler can reflect a blue color – creating an undesirable result. PRP (platelets) can also be injected in this area, which is a different type of product, but a similar procedure.

Since we do not service clients on a “per syringe basis” we also do not save any remaining filler from the date of your service for use at a later time. Fillers were not intended to be opened and reused, storing it after it has been opened may compromise its safety (by increasing risk of infection) and effectiveness. All remaining filler will be discarded.

Filler can be present in various areas of the body for anywhere from 6 – 24 + months depending on various individual factors. Depending on the type of filler used, the area the filler is used in, and your individual activity or metabolism we see various durations that filler will maintain optimal aesthetic. In the lips, we typically see filler last up to 12 months. Some patients may require maintenance injections around 6 – 8 months to maintain their lip fillers.

1. Avoid exercise for the first 24-48 hours because it will minimize potential swelling and bruising.
2. Swelling, bruising, and numbness are possible and may take hours or days to resolve.
3. Arnica tablets, gels, or creams may help the healing process.
4. Ice may also help decrease bruising and swelling and is encouraged.
5. In some situations, you may be directed to massage the area. Please do not massage the area unless Lianne advises.
6. Cortisone cream can help reduce redness.
7. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours
8. Avoid heat or sun for 24 hours

After your treatment, any of the following can potentially occur:
  • Swelling
  • Bruising
  • Numbness
  • Redness
  • Lumps
  • Hypersensitivity reactions (ex: hives)
  • Migration
  • “Tingling” or a bluish hue to the skin
  • Vascular Occlusion

Please keep in mind, dermal fillers are not an exact science. If you notice anything that you are uncomfortable with, it is recommended that you called The Best Injector to report any concerns as soon as possible at (561) 690 – 9988.

As a certified and licensed Physician Assistant, Lianne has had extensive training in facial anatomy and cosmetics which significantly minimizes these risks.

During your consultation, Lianne will discuss your areas of concern. She will suggest a treatment plan that is tailored to your concerns that will balance your profile and enhance your natural beauty. There are many types of dermal fillers, of which Lianne will help select the most appropriate filler and the appropriate amount of syringes to best match your expectations. Your appointment time will range in length depending on how many areas are being addressed. The Best Injector includes numbing cream or dental blocks for maximum comfort with all dermal fillers.

Dermal fillers are injected using a very fine needle. You may experience some mild discomfort when getting dermal fillers, which is why we typically apply numbing agents prior to starting. Some dermal fillers have lidocaine mixed in them, so the procedure becomes more comfortable as the procedure goes along.

The number of filler syringes may vary depending on your desired aesthetic goals and current lip shape and size. Typically, patients get 1-3 syringes spread out over several months to achieve their lip goals. Then, maintenance injections are recommended at least every 6-8 months.

Pain is subjective, so everyone experiences it differently. Most patients tolerate the procedure well, and we utilize numbing creams or a dental block.

Anyone who has silicone placed in the lips, or who has an allergy to hyaluronic acid products.

We have found that selling a procedure based on an outcome rather than focusing on the number of syringes, works better for our clients and our practice.

We do not have sales or discounts, however we do accept Alle and Aspire reward program points. Please keep in mind you are not just paying for the products and techniques being used, but also the expertise of your injector.

Refund Policy

We do not offer refunds on any services rendered.  Aesthetic results are quite variable from person to person and while we do our best to achieve the desired outcome, it cannot be guaranteed.  Clients are responsible for additional treatments needed to achieve desired results.
